Training and Capacity Development

The project’s main focus is on building capacity to support the development and transfer of new skills. The goal is to train a new group of skilled professionals to improve the efficiency of dam siltation management and to strengthen institutional capacity. The emphasis is on capacity building and training, with the aim of promoting knowledge sharing, learning, and skills development through the NatSilt programme. The implementation of this project was guided by the strategy developed and informed through key project insights and gap analysis in skills, capacity and capability in siltation management. Four occupation-based skills programmes have been developed to address the various skills required for siltation management. Training materials and modules have been developed to facilitate the engagement of a Community of Practice, enabling collaborative creation and knowledge transfer across different catchment areas.
