Sustainable Dredging of Dams

This project was aimed at developing a dredging model with protocols, focusing on sustainable dredging techniques. The sustainable dam dredging model should be used in a detailed design phase of a specific siltation management project following a feasibility study that identifies dredging as one of the feasible mitigating solutions. This model includes the application to determine beneficiation options for dredged material which could stimulate local economies of the dam communities and create potential employment opportunities as well as discarding the dredged material in an environmentally friendly manner.
